As 2020 draws to a close we are incredibly thankful to still be up and running and to have been able to continue to support some wonderful children in our local community throughout the year.

We are proud to announce that during 2020 we have donated £25,116.53 by the way of grants to 54 truly amazing children across the Three Counties region.

Many of our families have struggled financially to an even greater degree this year as a result of loss of earnings due to the impact of Coronavirus, and are now living in poverty. We have been called upon to help ease some of this burden by providing grants for everyday items such as clothing and shoes, items that parents simply cannot afford to replace in their current circumstances.

Some of our Charlie’s Gift children have also had to face the additional trauma of exposure to domestic violence. These children have often had to flee the family home at a moment’s notice with few of their own possessions. Our charity has stepped in where we can to help fund items such as bedding, furniture and school uniforms for these, the most vulnerable children in our area.

This year Charlie’s Gift grants have also funded some incredible mobility and therapy items for children with disabilities and special needs, such as pushchairs, car hoists, adapted car seats, sensory play items and wheelchair modifications.

In addition to this we are also proud to have supported some very poorly children receiving hospice at home and end of life care. Our funding has helped to make these children’s lives a little more comfortable and enjoyable through the provision of iPads and laptops, which are a welcome distraction during lengthy medical treatments.

All of this has only been made possible because of your wonderful generosity. Thank you to each and every one of you who has donated to Charlie’s Gift this year in some way. We are so very grateful that you have helped us to stay afloat this year, during very trying circumstances. We are very much looking forward to a less eventful 2021 and resuming our usual fundraising and grant-making activities!
