We are delighted to announce that Charlie’s Gift has been made Local Charity Partner for the Sainsbury’s Apsley Mills store in Hemel Hempstead. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who nominated us as a worthy cause to receive Sainsbury’s support for 2014-2015. Sainsbury’s backing over the coming months will help to raise our profile locally and will provide a welcome boost to Charlie’s Gift funds through joint fundraising initiatives over the year. This will enable us to support as many children as possible in the Three Counties locality.

To launch our year-long partnership with Sainsburys, on Saturday 9^th August, Charlie’s Gift treated Sainsbury’s customers to a musical medley of well-known tunes through the decades, played by flamboyant 14-piece ukulele band UkieToones. UkieToones from Totternhoe had generously given up their time on the day to support Charlie’s Gift.

Sainsbury’s customers showed their appreciation for the musical shopping experience by kindly donating their loose change in our charity buckets out the front of the store. The event was a great success with UkieToones ‘strumming up’ a fantastic £749.30 for the Charlie’s Gift!
