The now annual Memorial youth football tournament was held on a beautiful summer’s day in July. The day began with a red and white balloon release for Charlie and a few words from our Trustee Kyle. The matches were then underway. The Hemel Town Youth boys played valiantly, but the Arsenal Academy finally came out as victors over HHTY Reds. A breakfast barbeque, teas & coffees and a raffle raised a fantastic £800, this sum being donated as in the previous year to local charity KitAid. A red and white balloon release for Charlie, marking the start of the Annual Charlie Fidler Memorial Football Tournament. July 2012 marked the first Charlie Fidler Memorial Football Tournament hosted by Charlie’s club, Hemel Hempstead Town Youth. Teams playing were from Charlie’s age group (under 11’s), including Hemel Hempstead Town Youth Reds (Charlie’s Team) and HHTY Whites and Blacks. Teams were also represented from Hemel Aces, Berkhamsted Raiders and the Arsenal Academy.
